Instruction manual Epson inkjet printer - Cleaning the print head by hand
Your Epson inkjet printer does not print correctly? This may be due to the nozzles in the print head being clogged. These impurities can easily be cleaned manually by yourself, so that your printer works properly again.
If you have not been successful with the nozzle cleaning via PC in the printer menu, we recommend the manual cleaning described below. There can be various reasons for clogging the nozzles on the inkjet printer, e.g. cheap printer cartridges, infrequent printing or a sunny printer location.
Cleaning the print head by hand
But how can the nozzles be freed from the blockages? First of all, get a print head cleaner (possibly also spiritus or isopropanol). You will also need a disposable syringe, cotton swabs and paper towels.
Set the cartridge change position on the Epson printer, remove the cartridges and disconnect the power supply (pull the plug). The print head can now be moved.
Draw some cleaning fluid into the disposable syringe and apply it to the metal tips that pierce the printer cartridges. Apply 1-2 drops of cleaning fluid per metal tip and let it soak in for about 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure until the liquid is clear. Now you can use the disposable syringe to take up any excess cleaning agent again and wipe everything off with a paper towel. Now wait until everything is dry.
The print head should also be cleaned from below. To do this, place a paper towel with cleaning agent under the print head and wait a few minutes. Then move the paper towel carefully a little bit back and forth so that the ink is absorbed and then carefully remove it completely.
Afterwards you can put the printer cartridges back in, get the printer ready to start and trigger a print head cleaning via the print menu on the PC.
Now a perfect print shoul work again.
